Towards greener medical devices

The new amendment to the EU directive on medical devices (MDD) puts more focus on the chemical safety of medical device products.

This means that medical device manufacturers have an obligation to label and to inform customers on products that for instance contain phthalates, which are suspected of having health consequences for humans.

At Ambu, we are already on the path towards 'greener' products. “We want to go further than our duty to disclose all material facts. Therefore we are working on finding environmentally correct solutions in all newly developed Ambu products,” says CEO Lars Marcher.
